Saint Levant

Marwan Abdelhamid, plus connu sous le nom de Saint Levant, est né à Jérusalem pendant la seconde Intifada, d’une mère franco-algérienne et d’un père serbo-palestinien. Il a passé sept années déterminantes de son enfance à Gaza, une expérience qui inspirera plus tard son premier EP, From Gaza, With Love.

Puisant son inspiration dans ses origines, Saint Levant mêle les sonorités de la musique arabe traditionnelle au R&B et au hip-hop. Il célèbre la richesse de son héritage culturel, la diversité de la communauté arabe à travers le monde ainsi que la cause palestinienne. Écrites en arabe, en anglais et en français, ses chansons séduisent un public international grâce à leur portée universelle.

Cette démarche a culminé avec DEIRA, son premier album, un projet qui a posé les bases émotionnelles et sonores de son univers artistique.

Love Letters / رسائل حب

Sorti le jour de la Saint-Valentin, Love Letters / رسائل حب a marqué un tournant dans son évolution artistique. Le projet explore différentes facettes de son univers — triomphantes, introspectives, porteuses d’espoir et profondément sincères — à travers une face A ancrée dans les traditions musicales arabes et nord-africaines, et une face B inspirée du funk occidental des années 1980 et de la pop contemporaine.

Fort du succès du projet, Saint Levant l’a enrichi avec Love Letters / رسائل حب (Deluxe), qui réunit des collaborations avec Fares Sokar, NORDO et Babylone, renforçant encore sa place parmi les artistes qui naviguent avec aisance entre les cultures, les territoires et les genres musicaux.

AFANDI

L’album AFANDI ouvre un nouveau chapitre placé sous le signe d’une élégance intemporelle. Inspiré par le charisme naturel d’icônes arabes telles que George Wassouf et Kadim Al Saher, ce projet réinvente la figure de l’« afandi », un homme élégant, impeccablement vêtu et sûr de lui sans ostentation, pour une nouvelle génération.

À mesure que son univers artistique se déploie, l’influence de Saint Levant continue de marquer la musique, la mode et la culture. Il incarne une génération qui redéfinit l’expression artistique arabe selon ses propres codes, portée par un profond sentiment d’identité.

Avec AFANDI, il nous rappelle ce que nous savions déjà : certaines choses ne se démodent jamais.

Saint Levant — English

Marwan Abdelhamid, known professionally as Saint Levant, was born in Jerusalem during the second Intifada to a French-Algerian mother and a Serbian-Palestinian father. He spent seven defining years growing up in Gaza, an experience that would later inspire his debut EP, From Gaza, With Love.

Drawing inspiration from his origins, Saint Levant combines traditional Arabic music with R&B and hip-hop. He embraces the plurality of his cultural heritage, the Arab community worldwide and the Palestinian struggle. His songs — written in Arabic, English and French — have captivated a global audience with their international appeal.

This foundation culminated in DEIRA, his debut album, a project that laid the emotional and sonic groundwork for Saint Levant’s wider artistic world.

Love Letters / رسائل حب

Released on Valentine’s Day, Love Letters / رسائل حب marked a turning point in Saint Levant’s artistic evolution. The project explores different facets of his world — triumphant, reflective, hopeful and heartfelt — through an A-side rooted in Arab and North African musical traditions and a B-side inspired by Western ’80s funk and contemporary pop.

Following its success, Saint Levant expanded the project with Love Letters / رسائل حب (Deluxe), featuring collaborations with Fares Sokar, NORDO and Babylone, further cementing his position as an artist whose work moves easily between cultures, geographies and genres.

AFANDI

The AFANDI album marks a new chapter rooted in timeless elegance. Inspired by the effortless charisma of Arab icons such as George Wassouf and Kadim Al Saher, the project reimagines the AFANDI archetype’s sharply dressed, quiet confidence for a new era.

As his artistic world unfolds, Saint Levant’s influence continues to shape music, fashion and culture. He represents a generation redefining Arab artistry on its own terms — a legacy informed by an unwavering sense of identity.
